The Opportunity


* Works with end users to resolve application issues promptly.


* Sets up and maintain auxiliary files such as charge/procedure codes, insurance file, location file, etc.


* Works with vendor(s)/interdepartmental staff to resolve application issues.


* Creates and manages user IDs.


* Monitors and responds to system messages.


* Responds to user questions or problems and refers inquiries to other Information Systems staff according to established practices.


* Assists with electronic file transfers.


* Keeps management informed of any major issue or problem and its status.


* Controls and manages key passwords for the AS400.


* Ensures supplies are on hand, i.e., tapes, CDs, cleaning tapes.


* Works with software vendors to resolve any application issues.


* Places service calls to equipment vendors, if needed.

Required Experience and Competencies


* Two (2) years of application support experience with coding and document imaging systems, preferably Optum and Laserfiche, required.


* Experience documenting operational procedures and working with end users in resolving problems required.


* Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures required.


* Associate degree or certification in IT and/or application support related field preferred.


* Familiarity with medical billing applications, Laserfiche application, and Optum coding application.


* Customer/client orientation with excellent customer service skills.


* Strong interpersonal skills.


* Debugging skills.


* Problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.


* Solid oral and written communication skills.


* Research skills - ability to identify and seek needed information.


* Ability to multi-task.
