Originate and direct specific research projects on topics related to Institute focus areas, including but not limited to distribution in the national economy, impacts of economic policies, growth and development of economic regions, labor markets, individual or household welfare/wellbeing, or related subject areas..
As assigned by the Director, oversee and advance one or more core Institute activities (e..g..
policy brief series, conference organization, community research partnerships, data distribution, visiting scholars activities, etc..)..
Publish research papers on economic topics related to Institute focus in leading economics research journals..
Present research at high-quality academic and policy conferences and in seminars at leading universities and other research institutions..
If assigned, analyze and interpret a range of information drawing on data and potentially broad social science research as a basis for evaluating policy alternatives relevant to the Bank's policy mission, and provide analyses to management..
Effectively respond to requests and questions from sources (e..g.., local or national policy organizations, community partners, local government, etc..) outside the Federal Reserve System..
If assigned, assist management in writing speeches and in performing related activities of a supportive nature..
May assist Bank management in recruiting activities and organization of department programs..
Assume training, and other responsibilities as assigned by department management..

Typically, 2 to 10 years of experience after the Ph.D.
Experience typically consists of work as a tenured or tenure-track faculty member in an economics department or as an economist at a public or private sector institution focused on the rigorous analysis of current economic and policy issues.
Publications in the field of economics and demonstrated proficiency in economic analysis and/or forecasting.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
