DIVISION RETAIL OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Lead the division's ability to exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, service, variety, freshness, cleanliness, food safety and regulatory compliance and take action as necessary.
Spend time in stores, on the floor coaching, training, and developing area and store leadership teams to exceed customer expectations.
Ensure execution of the merchandising and operational plans/programs and provide feedback on the effectiveness of the plans.
Meet/exceed the division sales budgets for sales growth, market share and controllable expenses.
Execute and establish accountabilities for all segments of the Company Strategy.
Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Minimum
- Any previous store leader position within the company or other high-level company management position
- 2+ years of experience working as a multi-unit supervisor in a retail setting
- Ability to establish priorities and anticipate consumer trends
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Proven ability to achieve results through others
- Strong planning and follow up skills
- Ability to project and react to business issues
Desired
- Bachelor's Degree
- Any leadership skills training
- Any district manager training- Lead area and store leadership in implementation and execution of Merchandising, Operations, and People initiatives
- Partner with division leader to ensure division priorities align with total company direction
- Achieve/exceed sales goals, as well as targeted goals for wages, shrink, safety, asset protection, and controllable expenses
- Review store-level financial performance including budgets (e.g., sales, shrink, labor expenses, and other expenses) and other targeted goals (e.g., safety) with area leadership
- Achieve return on investment on approved capital projects and assist in identifying potential capital projects opportunities in geographic area of responsibility
- Understand the competitive landscape within the division and provide feedback to division and company stakeholders
- Partner with area managers to enable stores and departments to achieve financial goals and ensure communication, implementation, and execution of corporate plans
- Provide upward feedback on the communication and effectiveness of company Merchandising, Operations, training, People, and change management initiatives to division/corporate staff
- Promote and support strong store relationships with the community
- Demonstrate inclusionary leadership and friendly behaviors, coach leaders and associates in inclusive and friendly behavior, and support efforts of area and store teams to positively impact the customer experience
- Coach, counsel and assist area leaders in the training and development of all store associates including management, and identify high potential associates for leadership positions
