Koch Fertilizer Wever, LLC is looking for a 2026 Summer Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Engineering team in Wever, Iowa.

The internship opportunity will be a 12-week program running from late May to mid-August 2026.

What You Will Do

• Lead Small-Scale Projects: Take charge of managing smaller projects from initiation to completion, honing your project management skills, and ensuring timely delivery.

• Data Collection & Reporting: Gather and analyze operational data to generate insightful reports that drive informed decision-making and process improvements.

• Process Optimization Initiatives: Develop and implement projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and optimizing existing processes to meet evolving business needs.

• Maintenance Strategy Implementation: Execute predictive and preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

• Root Cause Analysis & Troubleshooting: Engage in identifying underlying causes of equipment issues and contribute to effective troubleshooting solutions.

• Support for Large-Scale Projects : Assist staff engineers with large projects by contributing to documentation and providing support throughout the project lifecycle.

• Dive Into the Details: Learn to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and other key technical documents, including piping isometric drawings, area plot plans, specifications, and process flow diagrams (PFDs).

• Collaborate & Learn: Work closely with a supportive team of professionals who are invested in helping you succeed.
