Database & Systems Analyst

The Department of Animal Services is recruiting for Business Process Analyst II, BPAII (working title: Database & Systems Analyst).

In this role, the incumbent will serve as the Chameleon System Administrator (CSA), ensuring the seamless operation, maintenance, and development of the department's Chameleon animal shelter management system and other integrated applications.

The incumbent will be responsible for system management, installation, and configuration while collaborating with Riverside County IT Department, vendors, and external partners to deploy upgrades, resolve technical issues, and maintain system integrity.

Expertise in relational databases, user access management, and data validation will be critical in ensuring compliance with organizational policies and business processes.

The incumbent will also oversee various Chameleon-related applications, including ChamCam, Chamrpt List Editor, KnowledgeRocket, PetHarbor, and payment portals, ensuring efficient operation and integration within the department.

The incumbent will support front counter operations, call centers, and licensing functions, ensuring adherence to department policies while troubleshooting issues related to rabies vaccination records, administrative citation programs, and contract city billing.

Responsibilities will also include running financial and statistical reports, reconciling data discrepancies, and assisting department heads with system-related concerns.

Success in this role requires the ability to assess technical issues, provide training, develop policies and procedures, and optimize system functionalities to enhance department-wide efficiency.

Competitive candidates will have strong technical expertise in relational databases, system administration, and troubleshooting.

Experience in the public sector as a system administrator, experience with Chameleon-related applications, and/or knowledge of Power BI data management is also highly regarded.
