Position Overview - Tasks & Responsibilities:
As an intern in the Robotics R&D, you will be a part of our team and support our engineers in developing the next generation of orthopedic/surgical robotics and navigation systems.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
* Support numerous work activities as part of the development process of new medical devices.
* Build concepts for medical devices and test setups.
* Design prototypes and coordinate manufacturing in the prototype shop.
* Coordinate and support mechanical tests
* Develop layouts and tolerance studies, participate in performing design evaluations (such as FEA, simulated use testing, dry labs and wet tissue labs etc.)
* Write technical & scientific reports
* Present your results to your colleagues.
Qualifications - Education and Experience:
* On-going university degree with Mechanical, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering background
Qualifications - Skills:
* Interest in the areas of product development and medical devices
* Fluent in English and German
* Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in a matrix organization and participate effectively both independently and as part of multiple teams
* Capacity to work under strict timelines
* Skills design, mechanical testing and validation
* Basic CAD skills (preferably NX or Solidworks)
