Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Quality Control Technician, under the supervision of the Plant Manager, is responsible for ensuring quality of goods produced using standard lab equipment to ensure specifications are met.
Job Requirements:
* Good communication skills--both written and oral.
* Above average computer skills, prior experience with MS Excel, MS Outlook and quality database(s) required. Ability to convert spreadsheet data to graphics.
* Knowledge or experience required in materials testing, product inspections, certificates of analysis and calibration requirements.
* Demonstrated proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures, along with knowledge of gauge calibration.
Must possess the skills and abilities to train employees in using all calibration instrumentation on the production floor. Must be capable of creating and maintaining calibration methods and records.
* Ability to work with employees from different backgrounds, both from the management and production team.
* Must be self motivated and capable of working with minimum supervision.
Physical Requirements:
* Lifting up to 30 pounds.
* Visually inspecting product.
* Communicating with employees and management.
* Stooping, bending, and moving about plant for 8+ hours per day.
Primary Accountabilities:
* Inspect incoming, in-process and finished goods for compliance with established quality specifications.
* Work with manufacturing and shipping/receiving personnel to complete required QC testing and documentation in a timely manner.
* Analyze data to specifications and designate as accept/reject. Initiate documentation for nonconforming materials as required.
* Actively engage in sample testing by reviewing schedule daily and testing sample runs while in production.
* Assist with testing of product returns and performing investigation of product complaints.
* Utilize statistical process checks to verify conformance with supplier COAs.
* Verify in-process quality checks, downtime recorded, and file paperwork as required.
* Research, complete and submit COA’s per customer requests.
* Assures compliance with the Greif Quality Management System.
* Actively engage in problem solving activities on matters pertaining to product quality concerns, corrective actions, and customer concerns.
* Capable of performing other duties assigned by management as required.
* Provide inventory counts.
Compensation Range:
The pay range for this position is $19.23 - $28.85.
Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between $23.61 to $25.61.
