Smart Factory Intern

Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for a Smart Factory Intern in our El Paso, TX facility.

This internship is full-time and on-site.

This is an exciting position that will afford the candidate exposure to cutting edge 4IR technologies in the manufacturing realm.

Initial focus will lie heavily in exploration of Private 5G as currently deployed in the El Paso, TX manufacturing facility.

What will you do?

• Log and track system alerts and issues using LDS and DISS platforms.

• Assist in collecting and analyzing data from IIOT devices and smart sensors.

• Support the documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical manuals.

• Participate in daily team meetings and report on assigned tasks or observations.

• Shadow technicians/engineers during troubleshooting and maintenance of smart systems.

• Help prepare visual aids, charts, or dashboards for project updates.

• Conduct basic research on new technologies or tools being considered for implementation.

• Maintain organized records of project files, test results, and system logs.

• Assist in preparing presentations or reports for internal reviews or digital days.

• Task Completion Rate: % of assigned tasks completed on time.

• Documentation Accuracy: Quality and completeness of technical notes and reports.

• System Familiarity: Demonstrated understanding of LDS/DISS systems by end of internship.

• Participation: Active involvement in team meetings, training sessions, and improvement events.

• Safety Compliance: Adherence to all safety protocols and PPE usage.

• Learning Milestones: Completion of training modules or learning goals set at the beginning of the internship.

• Feedback Quality: Constructive input provided during project reviews or improvement discussions.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or certification in Engineering, Technology, or a related field.

• Interest in smart manufacturing, programming, automation, or systems integration.

• Familiarity with or willingness to learn different programming code, SAP, DISS, and LDS systems.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
