Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design and develop scalable and resilient systems in a timely manner using Java and JavaScript to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams.

Design, write, comment and unit test code to confirm software modules are of the highest quality.

Build Microservices that will run on the bank's internal cloud and the public cloud platform.

Build UI using React, write test cases and deploy.

Collaborate with teams in multiple regions and time zones.

Participate in scrum team stand-ups, code reviews and other ceremonies.

Contribute to task completion and blocker resolution.

Handle critical and time sensitive concurrent tasks with supervision and properly escalate situations as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer and Information Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Programmer, Java Developer, or related occupation.

The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer and Information Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Programmer, Java Developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: Developing software applications using Java frameworks including Spring; Building and maintaining software applications using version control systems including Git and build tools including Maven; Performing data manipulation, data structuring and query optimization using database technologies including Cassandra and either Oracle SQL or Postgre SQL; Building REST microservices using Java and Spring Boot; Applications integration and deployments with CI/CD tools including Jenkins; Logging and monitoring tools including Splunk, Dynatrace, and Kibana; Automated testing frameworks using Karate; Writing Unit tests using Junit.

This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: Building and deploying software applications over cloud platforms including AWS Cloud Services, Docker, and Terraform; Writing script using JMeter to perform performance testing, functional testing, and load testing of web applications.

This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following: AWS MSK and AWS EventBridge.
