FACILITY GENERAL MAINTENANCE - GENERAL SERVICES - CAMDEN PLYWOOD

Georgia-Pacific has openings for PRODUCTION OPERATOR - General Services in our CAMDEN, TX Plywood Mill.

Selected applicants may train on any shift.

Rate of Pay and Work Schedule:

Starting pay for this position will be Trainee - General Services at $20/hour

This is a Day Shift position, but overtime and shift work (days, nights, or relief) could be required, as necessary.

Typical schedule of 5:00am - 3:00pm

Schedule allows you to be off every other weekend and you will work Monday, Tuesday and Thursday with alternating Wednesday and Friday

What You Will Do



* General Housekeeping/Maintenance of the mill


* Clean Spray Booths and Drive Motors in Dry Veneer


* Learn to operate sweeper, Bobcat, and other equipment to operate as needed


* Clean under belts, chippers and on top of blow pipes


* Cleaning parking lot and repairing potholes


* Clean cat walks and stairs


* Ownership of general housekeeping and repairs throughout the mill.


* Assist with department down days


* Be willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, pushing and/or pulling for at least 12 hours a day in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment


* Be willing and able to wear the necessary Personal Protective equipment (PPE) i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, steel toe shoes and any other PPE required by specific jobs


* Be willing and able to lift 50 lbs.


* Are you willing to walk on elevated walkways.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)



* Six (6) months of facility maintenance, housekeeping or other relevant experience


* Demonstrate an attitude that promotes quality, safe habits, and volume oriented.


* Have the mental and physical ability to work intensely at a rapid pace.


* Work and communicate well with co-workers and supervisors.
