JOB DESCRIPTION: RN
The NURSE Supervisor assesses resident care and manages facility employees in the provision of care and services according to professional standards of nursing practice, consistent with facility philosophy of care and county, state, and federal laws and regulations, as applicable, under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
Assists in the development and implements policy and procedures consistent with current law.
REPORTING: This position is responsible to the Director of Nursing.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing License: Current, active license as a Registered Nurse Work Experience: 1 year experience in long-term geriatric nursing care experience and/or training preferred Language Skills:
* Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information, and to be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language.
Mathematical Skills:
* Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
* Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, and volume.
Communication Skills:
* Must have exceptional communication and customer service skills, and be empathetic.
* Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, responsible parties, staff, and outside resources and agencies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, and policies and procedures, etc., which are necessary for providing quality care.
* Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing personnel.
* Ensure that all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with the written policies and procedures.
* Ensure that the nursing procedures manual is current at all times and reflects day to day nursing care procedures performed in this facility.
* Keys information into computer systems, including EMR
* Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies as may be requested.

* Ensure that all nursing service personnel are in compliance with their respective job descriptions.
* Meet with nursing staff as well as support personnel in planning the department services programs and activities.
* Ensure that a sufficient number of nursing personnel are available to meet the daily needs of each resident.
* Ensure that all nursing personnel are performing their work assignments with acceptable nursing standards.
* Perform administrative duties as necessary.
* Make rounds with physician as needed.
* Ensure physicians record and sign progress orders on a timely basis in accordance with current regulations.
* Fill out and complete accident/incident reports.
* Ensure that routine documentation is in accordance with established policy and procedures....
