MAINTENANCE PLANNER - ASSET MANAGMENT
Location: The Maintenance Planner position is based in the Belle Chasse office with travel to downtown New Orleans office as needed.
I.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for tracking, coordinating, and scheduling all maintenance activities for Canal Barge Company's fleet of tank barges.
As part of the Asset Management team, this role ensures that barges remain compliant, safe, and operational by planning and managing regulatory outage schedules, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
The Planner serves as a central link between departments, facilitating communication between Dispatch, Allocation, and Barge Superintendents.
II.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A.
Coordination:
* Serve as the communication center for all incoming maintenance repair requests and direct repair orders to the proper channels and personnel.
* Partner with Barge Superintendents to ensure planning aligns with on-site execution and operational needs.
* Coordinate with Dispatch and Allocation to plan regulatory outages that support organizational and commercial goals.
B.
Scheduling, Tracking, and Documentation:
* Track, schedule, and assign all maintenance for tank barges.
* Document full lifecycles of tank barge regulatory, repair, and preventative maintenance.
* Update CBC systems (SINEX and TowWorks) daily
C.
Stakeholder Communication:
* Communicate repair and regulatory timelines to stakeholders on a consistent basis.
* Attend weekly meetings with Allocation to proactively plan long-term outages
III.
QUALIFICATIONS
* 3+ years of experience in the marine industry
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to organize, prioritize, and plan with high attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically
* Experience with SINEX and TowWorks preferred

MEASURES OF SUCCESS
A.
Real-Time System Updates:
* TowWorks maintenance events and orders are added and updated daily.
* SINEX work orders and service requests are input and assigned as received or scheduled.
B.
Communication Effectiveness:
* Stakeholders receive timely, actionable updates.
* Orders and assignments are sent as soon as they are known.
C.
Increased Fleet Efficiencies:
* Excess out of service barge days before and after scheduled maintenance are reduced across the fleet.
* Barges are strategically positioned for future commercial operations when scheduling outages.
