Job Description:

This position leads the efforts of the Electrical, Controls, and Instrumentation (EIC) Engineers at the facility to standardize EIC equipment and processes, evaluate and apply new and emerging technologies, and leverage an external view to obtain superior business results.

This position works closely with all other technical groups including Operations Team Leaders.

This position provides technical support, guidance, training, coaching, evaluating, reinforcing quality principles, and provides advice to internal partners with a focus on improving partner safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) utilizing Continuous Improvement techniques.

This position is a working position as well as leads and develops Controls Engineers.

This position is on-site at our Logan, UT manufacturing plant.

What you’ll do:


* Establishes Electrical, Controls, and Instrumentation (EIC) related process and equipment standards.


* Leads review of EIC technologies being applied in the Cultured, Naturals and Process areas.

Leads effort to capitalize on these synergies between business units.


* Leverages external EIC resources to capture an external view of EIC technologies and processes and create a competitive advantage for Schreiber.


* Monitors and executes projects against commitments (cost, schedule and performance) and with overall company objectives in mind.


* Stays current with new and emerging technologies.

Recommend and champion applications for these technologies in our facilities.


* Provides guidance on the development of specifications, capital equipment and the selection of vendors, suppliers, and contractors.


* Assists in development of process controls to ensure customer requirements are met.

Improve partner safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) utilizing Continuous Improvement techniques.


* Provides effective communications to business leadership and teams regarding project/initiative status.


* Develops the controls engineering team to continue knowledge progression while building a succession plan.


* Works on projects as part of the controls resource group.


* Possesses knowledgeable of various government regulations that must be complied with, i.e., OSHA, USDA, FDA, EPA, EEOC, OFCCP, etc.


* Identifies process improvements through the use of problem-solving methods and quality tools.

Identifies potential capital improvements going through the analysis justification and approval process.

Manages and/or assists in the management of capital projects.
