Maintenance Worker in Maryland Heights, MO

NHC HealthCare Maryland Heights Maintenance Department is looking for a Maintenance Worker to join our team! We are conveniently located off interstate 70!

As a Maintenance Worker your responsibilities will include:

Physical demands:


* Able to stand, walk inside and outside in all weather.


* Able to stoop, kneel, bend, and climb depending on the job.


* Able to work in awkward positions.


* Able to do heavy lifting and moving.

Be able to lift over 100 pounds occasionally


* Able to see, hear and communicate adequately to complete jobs duties and responsibilities.

Duties and responsibilities:


* Heavy duty cleaning, grounds care, maintenance of institutional equipment and vehicles.

Planting flowers, spraying for insects and diseased flowers and shrubs, weeding, watering, and spreading mulch.


* Caring for animals: Cleaning the yard, horse pin, and bird cages.

Grooming, trimming hooves, feeding and just being their friends.


* Keep records of work performed.


* Coordinate work with other departments so as not interrupt patient care or normal business functions.


* Able to be on call for emergencies.


* Perform or direct duties concerned with maintenance of grounds, parking lots, driveways, etc.

May include gardening, landscaping, cleaning-up, snow removal, etc (except that performed under service contract).


* Perform or direct heavy custodial duties such as scrubbing and buffing, cleaning of basement, storage, utility areas, washing walls, ceilings, outside windows, changing screens and storm windows, changing light bulbs in ceiling fixtures and cleaning duties in very high places, removing and disposing of garbage and trash.


* Run errands, handles incoming and outgoing freight, lift and moves heavy furniture and equipment, and other miscellaneous duties as directed by supervisor or administrator.


* Responsible for the care and use of supplies and maintenance equipment used in performance of duties.


* Regular inspection of property and equipment for compliance with safety regulations.


* Able to cooperate with other partners.


* Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.

This position requires personal contact with residents, a high level of competency and efficiency in all aspects of maintenance operations.

You must be able to work as part of a team and independently with minimum supervision.
