Job Description:

Must have demonstrated knowledge and skills acquired via sufficient job experience or education in the following:


* Electrical Safety and troubleshooting


* Industrial Safety


* AC/DC Circuits and Machinery


* National Electrical Code


* Applicable PLC brands (e.g., Beckhoff, Allen Bradley, etc.)


* Hydraulics


* Ability to troubleshoot control circuits, motors, motor control circuits, and other electrical and electronic systems and equipment.


* Ability to install and maintain electrical systems and controls.


* Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics and apply NEC requirements.


* Ability to use appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools and diagnostic equipment to complete job tasks.

Key Responsibilities 


* Perform all duties in a safe and collaborative manner and immediately report any potentially dangerous conditions or other safety concerns to the supervisor.


* Startup and shut down equipment in accordance with operation requirements, company safety procedures, and OSHA requirements for machine activation and shutdown.


* Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials, and principles of operation of electrical equipment.


* Provide technical assistance to analyze and resolve work problems or assist others in solving work problems.


* Diagnose, repair, or replace faulty mechanical and/or electrical/electronic machinery components.


* Test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.


* Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical instruments, ensuring the applicable repair is performed for fix.


* Train maintenance and production employees on preventative maintenance measures for equipment and provide technical assistance in installation, maintenance, and repair techniques.


* Confer with the maintenance supervisor to determine operational problems and the efficiency of automatic control systems.


* Determine methods, procedures, and conditions for testing equipment and follow accordingly.


* Analyze operational problems and develop modifications in design to improve efficiency.


* Confer with manufacturers’ representatives and submits proposed design modification to improve efficiency of controls and instrumentation.


* Plan, direct, and record periodic electrical testing and recommend or initiate modification or replacement of equipment that fails to meet acceptable operating standards.


* Help ensure compliance with PM program or schedule.


* Establish standards and policies for maintenance of equipment.
