SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER - EVALUATION SERVICES

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world's top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Building & Construction Evaluation Services team in our Middleton, WI office.
The Building & Construction team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services and building science solutions to deliver Total Quality Assurance to the built environment.

The team offers the architectural, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry with a full suite of capabilities both in the lab and on site.

JOB SUMMARY

We're looking for a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer to play a key leadership role in our plumbing products certification program.

In this role, you'll serve as the industry liaison, staying ahead of plumbing code changes and representing our organization in key technical discussions with regulatory bodies, and clients.

Senior Project Engineer will mentor and guide junior engineers, ensuring technical excellence across all projects.

As a senior technical reviewer, they will provide critical oversight on complex product evaluations while also taking the lead on technically challenging projects from initial concept through testing, certification, and final documentation.

Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for growing the plumbing business at Intertek.

REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to Regional Evaluation Services Manager

* Conduct research of building codes and related product standards


* Develop product evaluation plans based upon research findings


* Assume total responsibility for projects as assigned including, but not limited to the following:


* Communicate with clients on building codes, test preparation, procedures, results and reporting matters


* Coordinate product testing and inspection requirements; coordinate test schedule with available personnel and equipment schedule


* Write test protocols when required and obtain approvals as necessary


* Be involved in industry events and technical committees


* Review and thoroughly understand contract requirements and document any deviations; advise clients of extra costs as they are incurred


* Assist in preparation of major proposals via pre-bid meetings and on-site inspections.
