Are you a passionate, culinary leader with a flair for delivering exceptional food experiences at large-scale events? We are looking for an Executive Sous Chef – Events to lead our Events Kitchen operations at our prestigious 5-star hotel in the heart of Mayfair.
As a key culinary leader, you will take full ownership of the Events Kitchen ensuring consistent food quality, team performance, and exceptional guest experiences.
This is a hands-on role, working closely with kitchen brigades and supporting the main kitchen during non-event periods.
What You’ll Do:
* Lead production, preparation, and delivery for all events, from plated dinners and buffets to live cooking stations.
* Maintain impeccable hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP), ensuring compliance with IHG and brand requirements.
* Coach, train, and develop a talented team of chefs and kitchen porters.
* Collaborate on menu design, food cost management, and kitchen rota planning.
* Influence key decisions around procurement, kitchen budget, and food quality.
* Deliver innovative experiences across various service styles (social events, business meetings, restaurants, and in room dining service).
What We’re Looking For:
* Minimum 2 years in role as Sous chef or above
* Proven experience managing large-scale events and multi-style food service delivery, in a high-end hotel (preferably global brand.)
* Excellent culinary skills with strong knowledge of local and international cuisine.
* Experience working with external caterers and agencies.
* Certification in Level 2 Food Safety and working knowledge of HACCP (Level 3 preferred).
* A natural leader with a track record of mentoring and motivating teams.
* Collaborative mindset with the ability to solve complex kitchen workflow issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.
* Experience working across 5-star hotel outlets, including Events, Restaurants, and in Room Dining.
