Director, Brand Standards Governance

The Director, Standards Governance is a key role within the Business Reputation and Responsibility function, reporting to the SVP Risk and Assurance.

This individual will provide global leadership to establish, maintain and evolve accountabilities, processes and systems for how standards are used and upheld throughout IHG.

They will work closely with Global and Regional colleagues, including Guest Experience, Brand teams, Safety and Security, Technology and other functions, to facilitate and oversee the standards governance, publication and measurement cycle. 

Your day to day 



* Developing and evolving the vision and strategy for IHG’s use of standards across global teams, with appropriate alignment to hotel ready methodologies​ and franchise license / hotel management agreement considerations 


* Providing standards owners across IHG with standards-related advice as part of the broader development and evolution of guest experiences, act as a filter of proposed standard changes, provide a single point of contact for standards related issues, manage the logging, tracking and management of requests for new or changed standards.​ 


* Oversee appropriate governance and decision making (approval) frameworks, at both Global & Regional level, including formal Standards Committees, appropriate liaison with IHG Owners Association, and enable continuous improvement of standards and measurement processes. 


* Manage annual publication of standards manuals. 


* Oversee the effective and efficient use of measurement resources and information, to improve visibility of standard performance and brand consistency​ 


* Govern, maintain and evolve systems, as required, to collate data and communicate management information regarding performance to stakeholders including hotel operations and standards owners. 


* Working with HR, influence ongoing global and regional team capabilities / resources required to support delivery of consistent guest experiences (for example, standards advisory, administration, analytics, reporting) on an on-going basis.​

* Self starter with high drive for results, a strong process and problem solving focus​ 


* Experience working in branded service delivery desirable​ 


* Requires an ability to manage analytics and provide compelling summarized insights​ 


* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with follow-through and attention to detail​ 


* Is able to influence, challenge and drive performance of individuals outside their reporting remit​ 


* Manages a team of reports (direct and indirect)​ 


* Language skills and cultural awareness essential for effective multi country communications​
