We are searching for the best talent for a Senior Scientist, Cellular & Molecular Toxicology, Translational Safety to be located in San Diego, CA.

Purpose: The Senior Scientist will join the Cellular & Molecular Toxicology (CMT) team within Preclinical Sciences & Translational Safety (PSTS) to apply cell-based screening and mechanistic toxicity support for investigative studies.

This role involves designing and conducting robust experiments to assess target liability and toxicity mechanisms, while developing assays suitable for de-risking observations in drug discovery & development.

The position requires a collaborative spirit and exemplary communication skills to effectively work in a matrixed team environment engaging with stakeholders from various functions.

You will be responsible for:

Experimental Design & Execution:


* Design and conduct cell-based screening / mechanistic assays to address toxicity challenges.


* Develop and validate fit-for-purpose assays suitable for investigating target organ toxicity or mechanistic findings.

Investigative Studies:


* Utilize advanced cellular and molecular techniques for toxicity evaluations arising from nonclinical findings


* Incorporate organotypic models such as spheroids, microphysiological systems, and co-culture approaches to study toxicity mechanisms

Collaborative Problem Solving:


* Work with cross-functional teams and contribute to solving scientific problems across multi-disciplinary domains.

Scientific Communication:


* Analyze and interpret experimental data to create scientific presentations and reports.


* Maintain proper recording of information in electronic laboratory notebooks


* Present findings to supervisors, project teams, and stakeholder groups.
