Technical Communicator

Alta Equipment Company is looking for a highly organized and technically skilled Technical Communicator & Technical Support to join our Construction Equipment (CE) division.

This position will support the CE Technical Support side of the business and will work directly under the Technical Training Manager.

In this role, you'll act to support technicians and customers, helping troubleshoot software and diagnostic access issues, answering helpdesk tickets, answering equipment operational issues, and communicating with the factory technical support.

Key Responsibilities:


* Submit and monitor technical communication reports between Construction OEM's, Alta Service Departments, Alta Technicians, and Alta's customer base.


* Provide technical support and information for technicians, product support reps, sales, and parts.


* Provide customers with technical support.


* Provide the Rental Department with technical and operator support.


* Assist with department help desk ticketing system


* Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


* Experience in a technical support/helpdesk environment — ideally within construction equipment, heavy machinery, or a related field.


* Strong computer knowledge, particularly in diagnostic tools, remote access platforms, OEM portals, and Windows-based systems.


* Excellent attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills.


* Solid communication skills — follow up with team members and provide updates.


* Experience managing support workflows, tickets, or queues


* Familiarity with managing software subscriptions and general purchase order (GPO) processes is a plus.


* Comfortable juggling multiple requests while staying calm, efficient, and focused.

Preferred Qualifications:


* Familiarity with OEM software (e.g., Volvo, JCB, Takeuchi, Genie)


* Experience using support ticketing systems or CRM platforms


* Prior coordination experience in a support setting


* Technical certifications or formal training in IT systems or diagnostics
