Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop, and implement software solutions.

Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices.

Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules.

Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues.

Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications.

Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows.

Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Computer Systems Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following: Designing and developing software applications using technologies including Java, JavaScript, and HTML.

This position requires four (4) years of experience with the following: Developing software application using Java frameworks including Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and J2EE; Performing data manipulation, data structuring, and query optimization using database technologies including JDBC, SQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, and Oracle Service Bus; Building REST microservices using Java and Spring Boot; Building and deploying software applications over cloud platforms including AWS Cloud Services; Applications integration and deployments with CI/CD tools including Jenkins; Automated testing frameworks and tools including Junit.

This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: Building and maintaining software applications using version control systems including Git and build tools including Maven; Logging and monitoring tools including Splunk.

This position requires (2) years of experience with the following: XML and Swagger for API documentation; Building application utilizing SDP Streams.
