Medical Unit Clerk - Acute Unit (4C) - Night Shift

The Riverside University Health System - Medical Center seeks a Medical Unit Clerk to join their Medical Acute Unit (4C) department in Moreno Valley.

The Medical Acute Unit (4C) is responsible for providing inpatient health care and services to Medical-Surgical adult patients, with a specialty in chemotherapy and palliative/hospice patients.

The Medical Unit Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties and will be working within the multidisciplinary team- clinical and non-clinical, ancillary services including external customers such as patients and vendors.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:



* Multi-handling of patient call lights and phones; communicates requests to appropriate staff in a timely manner.


* Tracks admissions, discharges, transfers, and room changes for census purposes; completes proper forms and records for patient admissions, transfers, discharges, examinations, and testing; may assemble, disassemble, update, and thin patient charts.


* Maintains unit files; runs errands and transports supplies, specimens, and other materials as needed.


* Responds to established emergency procedures; assists in ordering stock supplies; and completes inventory of unit equipment.


* Executing standardized clerical functions and assisting with other related tasks as needed.

Under supervision, to perform a variety of clerical duties in a medical treatment area in support of professional and other staff; and to do other work as required.

Work Schedule (80 hours Bi-weekly Pay Period):

- 6 Days - 12-hour Shifts- 1 Day - 8-hour Shift
Night Shift: Monday to Sunday, with alternating weekend

• Responds to established emergency procedures; assists in ordering stock supplies; may distribute mail, packages, and flowers to patients as necessary.
