Community Medicaid Outreach Specialist - Goshen, NY

Description & Requirements

Maximus is currently seeking a Community Medicaid Outreach Specialist to join our growing team and support the New York Medicaid Choice program.

This position is responsible for providing essential face-to-face, virtual, and telephonic outreach and enrollment services to New York Medicaid recipients.

In this role, you will assist consumers with applying for Medicaid benefits at community locations, support special projects, and help advance the goals of the program.

You will also be required to maintain an active Certified Application Counselor (CAC) certification and assist with administrative tasks, and new hire training.

This is a full-time onsite position based in an LDSS/HRA office located in Goshen, NY, and requires flexibility to travel and provide coverage at neighboring sites across Orange, Rockland and Sullivan counties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Conduct outreach presentations to recipients and community members as needed.- Present program education and enrollment options to recipients.

- Develop relationships with community leaders and serve as a liaison with various constituents.

- Act as a point of contact for these agencies to work out issues or help certain cases moving through the enrollment process.

- Serve as liaison between multiple training providers when necessary to benefit our clients.

- Develop and Promote knowledge of community and participate in community events, other activities as needed.

- Conduct outreach and enrollment services through face-to-face and virtual (telephonic) interactions, educating clients on managed care options and public health programs at LDSS/HRA offices.
