Your Job

Flint Hills Resources Corpus Christi Refinery is hiring for a SAMPLER to join the maritime operations team! In this dynamic role, you will collect quality samples that will allow the laboratory to run analysis on the products that FHR offers to our customers.

In addition, you will assist the shift measurement technician with gauging and sampling cross channel barges as needed all while promoting the utmost safety-conscious environment.

Our group of sampling and measurement professionals collect and deliver all samples from all corners of our refinery, including both the East and West Plant and at all stages of the process.

What You Will Do


* Collect quality samples by following the appropriate methods and standards that have been defined by ASTM, EPA, & FHR


* Utilize time management by coordinating with others the priority of the samples that have been requested


* Assist shift Measurement Technician with gauging and sampling cross channel barges


* Promote, exhibit, and continually learn safe and environmentally responsible behaviors


* Understand and ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations


* Able to work safely by following FHR's safety rules and regulations


* Take responsibility and report potentially unsafe or environmentally unfriendly situations

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Valid US Driver's License


* At least 6 months of sampling & gauging shore tanks and/or marine cargo experience inspection experience

Physical Requirements of the Role


* 12 hour rotating shift, including days, nights, weekends and holidays


* Ability to climb heights exceeding 150 feet


* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs


* Apply a pushing and pulling force with torques exceeding 150 lbs


* Ability to work in high precarious places


* Ability to work in confined spaces


* Ability to work in adverse outdoor weather conditions


* Ability to work in areas that may require the use of fully encapsulated acid suit


* Ability to wear breathing air-Self Contained Breathing Apparatus

What Will Put You Ahead


* 3+ years of sampling & gauging shore tanks and/or marine cargo experience inspection experience


* Associate's Degree in a Technical Field
