Accounting Payable Co-op
Where You'll Work
Cigna, a global health services company, is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented intern to join our Accounts Payable team.
This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial operations, focusing on improving the efficiency of our supplier records and enhancing our electronic payment processes.
The selected candidate will also assist with essential day-to-day tasks that support the smooth functioning of our Accounts Payable department.
What You'll Do
* Supplier Record Optimization:
+ Review and analyze the Supplier Master Record to identify potential candidates for conversion to electronic payment methods (e.g., ACH or wire transfer).
+ Highlight targeted populations of Supplier Records to be converted to electronic payment methods.
* Accounts Payable Triage Support:
+ Assist with monitoring and managing "Requestor Not Found" invoices.
These are invoices submitted without a clear Cigna employee identified as the requestor.
+ Collaborate with internal teams to gather the necessary information, resolve issues, and ensure invoices are processed accurately and promptly.
* Data Entry and Maintenance:
+ Support in updating and maintaining the Supplier Master Record to reflect accurate information.
+ Perform data searches and clean-up activities to ensure records are up-to-date and complete.
* Reporting and Documentation:
+ Assist with tracking progress on electronic payment adoption and other related metrics.
+ Help prepare reports and documentation to communicate findings, trends, and status updates to the team.
Qualifications:
* Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
* A proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
* Experience with data entry, analysis, or similar tasks is a plus.

Additional Information
* Location : This role can work from home anywhere in the United States.
Co-Op housing will not be provided.
* Schedule: You must be available to work 40 hours/week for 6 months.
Working hours are Monday - Friday.
* Compensation: For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of $22.00.
