DoD Wargaming SME
The Mission, Concepts and Capabilities (MCC) division of Applied Research Associates is seeking a DoD Wargaming Subject Matter Expert to lead integration of emergent Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological (NCB) event simulation tools into established wargaming tools and workflows.
The right candidate will have demonstrated a strong understanding of established DoD wargaming methodologies and has the aptitude to lead a team integrating new wargaming capabilities to model NCB events.
The candidate will lead outreach efforts to identify wargaming stakeholders with NCB event equities; identify scenario requirements, user interfaces, platforms and frameworks.
The candidate will provide operational support to customers, while working with a diverse group of other subject matter experts in other fields.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the assessment, planning, and execution of integrating new wargaming tools and methods into existing wargaming frameworks.
* Translate NCB event environment and impacts into critical information requirements for senior leaders, wargaming developers and audiences at all echelons.
* Collaborate with stakeholders, including analysts, planners, and technologists, to align tool capabilities with operational objectives.
* Evaluate current wargaming processes to identify gaps, opportunities, and integration points for new tools or methodologies for NCB events.
* Develop and deliver training materials, user guides, and standard operating procedures for new tools.
* Coordinate testing and validation activities to ensure tool reliability and relevance to wargaming scenarios.
* Continuously monitor tool performance and user feedback to recommend iterative improvements.
* Maintain awareness of emerging wargaming technologies and best practices to inform future integration efforts.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree with 8 year of technical experience working within the DoD and/or other NCB wargaming/exercise communities OR 12+ years of experience in wargaming in lieu of a degree
* Previous military experience in building and executing DoD wargames
* Willingness to learn skills associated with NCB modeling
* Strong communication skills, technical presentation skills, and extensive experience with Microsoft Office
* Experience with DoD training, wargaming, modeling and simulations
* U.S.
citizenship
* Minimum current / active SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
* Active TS/SCI clearance
