Lead Site Solar Technician - Primoris Renewable Energy

Job Overview:

Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking a full-time Lead Solar Technician.

This position involved overnight travel.

The Lead Solar Technician must have the ability to work safely at high quality with electrical & mechanical components, issues and concerns. 

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: 


* Perform a full range of diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and oversight of issues that may arise at a solar farm across the US


* Ability to diagnose a full range of solar service issues


* Provide outstanding customer experience


* Ability to travel using own vehicle or in company owned vehicle


* Participate in staff meetings and assist with broader company initiatives


* Provide daily reports


* Effectively use hand and power tools


* Effectively use a laptop and a variety of programs/applications


* Learn and understand basic low voltage electrical systems


* Operate machinery/equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, backhoes, rock drills, jack hammers, compressors, generators, winches


* Troubleshoot technological issues


* Clean, maintain, and inventory company owned tools/equipment


* Contribute during the planning phase of the project by performing regional research and outreach


* Act professionally in remote areas, on active construction sites, or in the office


* Think creatively and encourage open-mindedness


* Continually drive self-improvement and motivate excellence in coworkers


* Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental procedures


* Maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record


* Drive long distances in heavy work trucks, often with trailers in tow

Basic Qualifications:


* Minimum 3 years working with solar operational farms


* Knowledge of all major solar and energy storage products


* Training on top tier inverters a plus


* Journeyman electrician preferred, NABCEP or similar certification preferred


* Must be highly organized and punctual


* Excellent written and verbal communication skills


* Must have a valid drivers license and pass cdl background check and physical


* Must have the ability to work though issues and troubleshoot safely


* Accommodate frequent travel -- 75% of the year / 3 weeks per month


* Work as a member of a small team, as well as independently in the field


* Must be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to: standing, stooping, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time. Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body


* Lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks


* Lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday


* Sustain prolonged exposure to extreme weather and environmental conditions
