Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions.

Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices.

Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules.

Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues.

Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications.

Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows.

Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, or in a related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or in a related occupation.

The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, or in a related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or in a related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Designing and developing enterprise multi-tier applications using Java Spring Boot framework, interacting with Relational database such as Oracle using JPA (Java Persistence API) architecture, with Hibernate implementation; Designing and developing robust SPA (Single Page Application) user interface using Angular and Typescript, NodeJS, RxJS, and Bootstrap; Writing comprehensive unit and integration test suites using Junit5, Mockito and Powermock; Authoring CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Spinnaker with code base in GIT repositories; Designing database schemas in Oracle, adhering to industry wide standards and best practices; Writing complex SQL using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, and Fine-tunning queries for maximum performance; Designing and developing Microservices that expose REST API end points; Containerizing code using Docker and deploying to AWS ECS and EKS platforms.
