Manufacturing Engineer - Converting

Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products Division is seeking qualified professionals to consider for our Manufacturing Engineer opportunity for one high-priority asset in the converting department at the Wauna Mill located in Clatskanie, OR.

The role is responsible for safely increasing the effectiveness of the asset by improving team capabilities, reliability, work processes, and equipment performance.

What You Will Do


* Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.

Ensure all processes comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.


* Lead, mentor, and develop your production teams to achieve a consistent and reliable operating state.

Provide technical expertise and assist the team in troubleshooting while building understanding and ownership of the equipment.


* Prioritize opportunities to improve, implement, and execute asset strategies.

Collaborate with asset reliability teams, planning, and purchasing to ensure efficient operations.


* Identify and execute closure plans for compressible gaps in manufacturing processes and equipment.

Utilize partnerships with data analysis teams to prioritize and focus improvement efforts.


* Facilitate investigations into manufacturing issues to determine underlying causes and implement corrective actions.


* Oversee equipment modifications, installations, and startups.

Prepare project justifications and benefits analyses, managing onsite and contractor resources to meet project objectives.


* Lead trials of raw materials to assess performance, product quality, and explore cost-saving opportunities.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Manufacturing, industrial, or military experience as an engineer, production planner, reliability planner or production technician.


* Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and/or reliability strategies.


* Experience working with a CMMS system (ex: SAP, Maximo, GCSS-Army, etc.)

What Will Put You Ahead


* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Paper or Bioresource Engineering.


* Pulp and Paper experience.


* Experience training, mentoring and developing others directly or indirectly.


* Experience using data and process analytics tools such as PARCview and PI Vision
