The Sr.
Category Development Manager (CDM) is responsible for translating category management principles into action through data analytics and consumer/shopper insights.
The primary focus is to support the Family Care business for ADUSA (Ahold-Delhaize).
You’ll work with the cross functional team to deliver our dollar share, and net sales commitments by conducting advanced analytics and developing data driven strategies, recommendations, and tactics utilizing internal data, syndicated data, panel and shopper data.
The Sr.
CDM will assist in developing comprehensive category strategies focused on shopper centricity, enabling greater sell-thru and market share gains.
In this role, you will:
* Become a subject matter expert in assigned category and provide thought leadership to customer and internal sales team
* Use principles of Category Management to inform recommendations for category and brand growth and leverage information to grow customers category
* Conduct strategic category and channel analyses and reports, incorporating appropriate resources.
Filter through several data sources to build strategies that drive superior results
* Perform strategic competitive analyses by category and brand to capture trends, opportunities and challenges for core business areas
* Develop strategic business plans, vision, tactics and strategies for achieving category growth
* Stay current on consumer trends for various retail channels.
* Use knowledge of shopper and consumer to recommend optimal category assortments, flows, adjacencies, cross merch opportunities, etc.
* Provide insight and perspective of the various channel dynamics on assigned categories
* Monitor channel shifting and the associated trends reflected in the marketplace.
* Form perspective on omni-channel purchasing behaviors (e.g.
P2P, B&M vs Ecom, site to store, etc.)
* Understand how online purchase behaviors differ from those in-store and how we can capitalize on those differences
* Effectively manage workload and partnerships with key stake holders across multiple customers and internal teams
