The Role:

We are seeking for a potential talent to take on the role as a Legal Counsel, to join our Business Legal Team and be responsible for providing legal and compliance support to our Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, and Taiwan (SMBT) operations.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivery of legal, regulatory and compliance services.

You will operate as a key business partner to provide strategic support and advice, working on a wide range of commercial and compliance matters.

What will you do?


* Prepare, review and support negotiations of a number of contracts including industry standard construction contracts.


* Review and prepare templates.


* Provide claims support and oversee litigations.


* Help to ensure compliance with applicable laws and Group policies.


* Support back office functions including Corporate Governance, Finance & HR on legal related matters.


* Provide training and facilitating our Compliance programs.


* Other general legal support as reasonably required by Legal Management to service the SMBT operations.

What qualifications will make you successful?


* A fully qualified lawyer with a Bachelor's degree in Law and at least 5 years' relevant PQE in Commercial Law.


* Fluent in English (written and verbal) with great technological skills.


* Has experience working in a multinational company and has a proven track record operating in an in-house environment.


* Work proactively and closely with the business stakeholders, to identify and analyse critical commercail and legal issues.


* Apply legal expertise to deliver solutions.


* Confident with fantastic interpersonal skills, commercially minded, highly organized, and able to work effectively in teams.


* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


* Able to work independently and manage large volumes of work.


* Ability to define creative and flexible solutions to support global project with a global team and balance risk, resources, and compliance.


* Able to travel between the countries you shall support and occasional travel to other locations in East Asia as business need is determined.
