Job Summary
The OBGYN department of Michigan Medicine seeks an experienced, ARRDMS certified Ultrasound Technician to perform Gynecologic ultrasounds, including assessment of pelvic anatomy i.e.
uterine and ovarian, sonohysterograms, saline-infusion sonograms, as well as early first trimester obstetric ultrasounds for community-based clinical research projects.
The Ultrasound Technician will serve as an integral member of a large Women's Health and Reproductive Disparities (onWHARD) research team and provide logistical support to the study on a daily basis in the field.
The primary study that scans will be done is for ?Investigating Obesity and Adiposity-Induced Alterations to the Human Endometrium.? Scans could be performed for other research projects as needed.

Responsibilities

Study Procedures and Process Development
* Independently perform transvaginal, abdominal, and saline-infusion sonogram ultrasound examinations per study protocols.
* Complete probe sterilization and machine cleaning between examinations.
* Responsible for image capture (still and cine), download and backup of images along with completing study documentation and forms per protocol.
* Monitor study participants during the ultrasound process; and communicate findings to chaperone/Clinical Study Associates as appropriate.
* Periodically present ultrasound images and findings to Principal Investigator for review, as appropriate.
* Track ultrasound machine and probe function; in coordination with Manager, manage service and maintenance.
* Support with tracking equipment inventory, required supplies, timely ordering, and re-stocking.
* Develop and update ultrasound guidelines and procedure manuals for projects assigned.
* Draft presentations on ultrasound techniques and processes as needed.
* Assist with all study-related compliance requirements.
* Able to be cross trained in other clinic support functions.
* When required, travel to events or clinics in SE Michigan to recruit, some flexibility with clinic visits.
