Product and Process Engineer

Your Job

The Product and Process Engineer role will support both R&D and manufacturing scaling projects related to Vacuum Insulated Glass (VIG).

The selected individual will utilize their broad knowledge of various materials and product development experience to determine solutions to complex problems related to window technology and manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will have a technical or engineering background coupled with manufacturing process and product development experience.

What You Will Do


* Technical Development and Implementation: Responsible for the development and implementation of new materials, creating product and processing specifications, and identifying risks and opportunities to efficiently execute paths to commercialization by eliminating alternatives quickly.

This includes creating development strategies and methodologies (experimental plans) utilizing design of experiments for material and process development.


* Prototyping and Testing: Oversee prototyping and testing of new materials and designs, including the interpretation of test results.

Develop test equipment and methods to evaluate new materials and product designs.


* Vendor and External Collaboration: Interface with vendors and external knowledge sources or utilize internal capabilities to create and test new materials.

Evaluate material selection, cost analysis, and vendors as required to implement new designs.


* Statistical Analysis and Recommendations: Utilize statistical analysis to develop experimental conclusions and provide recommendations to senior leaders.


* Manufacturing Collaboration: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of new materials and processes into production lines.

Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during the implementation of new materials and processes.


* Production Support: Work with production to implement and support product and process improvements.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering field with 3+ years of relevant industrial experience or a Master's degree in the same fields with 1+ years industrial experience


* Knowledge of various material families, including metals, ceramics, and polymers
