Stage - Raw materials & Human Rights Project Lead - Rueil Malmaison - H/F
As the Raw Materials & Human Rights Project Lead, your role involves assessing human rights risks in Schneider Electric's raw materials value chain for 8 prioritized materials as part of the Schneider Sustainability Essential "Social Excellence" program (SSE#12).
You will be responsible for proposing responsible sourcing pathways for each material by 2030.
Additionally, you will participate in the Group's public reporting on these risks and contribute to the development of training for relevant teams.
Responsabilities :
The energy and digital transitions required to meet the Paris Agreement are increasingly exerting pressure on mineral supply chains essential for constructing new infrastructures, including Copper, Nickel, Rare Earth, and Lithium.
While these minerals are crucial for the transition and can bring development opportunities, the extractive sector poses environmental and human rights risks, as highlighted by the Institute for Human Rights and Business
As part of its Sustainability Impact commitments, Schneider Electric has initiated the Social Excellence Program (SSE #12) to develop innovative product social labels.
Under this program, Schneider Electric is enhancing its responsible sourcing strategy by identifying, preventing, and mitigating human rights risks and promoting decent working conditions across multiple tiers of a product's supply chain.
Within the Group Human Rights team and in collaboration with Global Procurement, Raw Materials, and Strategy teams, you will:
* Analyze 8 critical raw materials crucial for Schneider Electric
* Map industries, market structures, and perspectives
* Provide a comprehensive human rights analysis, including context, risks, opportunities, and impact for Schneider Electric
* Benchmark peer best practices on responsible materials
* Identify and benchmark relevant certifications and coalitions
* Design criteria and methodology to mitigate identified risks in collaboration with internal stakeholders
You will also contribute to Schneider Electric's external corporate sustainability reporting, including the 2024 Group Vigilance plan, the 2024 Human Rights report, and the Modern Slavery Statement, as well as various ESG rating assessments.
Additionally, you will contribute to internal Human Rights trainings for Schneider Electric teams and participate in sustainable materials business initiatives and relevant external expert groups.
Profile sought :
* You are a master's student (BAC+4/5) from a business school
* An orientation towards sustainability, innovation, or social aspects is required.
