Sr. Software Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

As our Sr.

Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the re-architecting of our core systems from a legacy mainframe on-prem architecture to a cloud-native microservices based architecture.

You will be responsible for analyzing and decomposing our current state technology environment into a component-based architecture which will facilitate our technology modernization journey as needed to achieve our business objectives of speed to market, digital enablement and digitization of our customer experiences.

Our current technologies include: COBOL, IBM MQ, IMS DB, CICS, DB2, z/OS and Smalltalk.

Our future state technologies include: Azure, Java Spring Boot, Kafka, Apache Camel, Angular, MongoDB, PostgreSQL

In addition to designing innovative strategies for migrating and enhancing our legacy applications, you will collaborate closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, software engineers, and infrastructure teams.

Together, you will define and deliver comprehensive end-to-end solutions that are secure, scalable, resilient, and adaptable to evolving business needs, ultimately ensuring a seamless impact on day-to-day operations.

Your leadership will be integral in identifying and mitigating technical debt, transitioning our core applications into modern cloud-native architectures, and implementing best practices in integration and DevSecOps.

You will also focus on the profound implications of these changes, ensuring that the enhanced technology stack drives improvements in operational efficiency, customer experience, and overall business performance.

Further, as a mentor and guide to development teams throughout the software development life cycle, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Your vision and expertise will be instrumental in facilitating Chubb's digital transformation initiatives, positioning our organization for long-term success in an increasingly competitive landscape.

In this role, you will:


* Set the technical direction on specific projects by delivering implementable architecture designs that account for technology modernization in a practical and iterative way.

Seek guidance or make balanced decisions that account for time-to-market, reduction of technical debt, supportability, and business needs


* Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand and document solution requirements and align business and technology roadmaps


* Collaborate across numerous agile teams to provide end to end solutions across multiple business domains


* Provide architecture governance for solutions across the designated portfolio


* Provide solution direction in collaboration with delivery teams
