Software Engineer

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions.

Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices.

Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules.

Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues.

Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows and ensure that solutions are aligned to pre-defined JPMC architectural framework.

Implement and manage scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant AWS Cloud infrastructure.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate various data solutions into a cohesive and reliable data ecosystem.

Monitor and optimize system performance, using advanced observability tools to ensure system reliability and performance metrics are met.

Implement and monitor robust backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure application & data durability and availability.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on automation, cost optimization and process improvement.

Ensure compliance with JPMC data governance and security polices, applying best practices in data management and cloud operations.

Participate in on-call rotation for critical incident response and proactive system monitoring.

Participate in shift schedule, including late evenings and weekends, to provide 24/7 support to customers.

Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

Assist in engineering team hiring and training/mentoring junior team members to bring them up to speed with respect to system knowledge as well as processes and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 7 years (84 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Lead Consultant/Senior Technical Program Manager, Lead Consultant/Technical Project Manager, Package Solution Consultant: Oracle PeopleSoft, Financial Systems Control, Senior Consultant, IT Analyst, Systems Developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires six (6) years of experience with the following: Leading Oracle ERP Implementation and Production Support projects; Managing stakeholders, project teams, project timelines, and budgets effectively; Handling escalated issues, conducting root-cause analysis and taking corrective actions; Planning and conducting trainings for end-users key users and prepare training material for a smooth transition to the new system and business process; Providing subject matter training and coaching the t...
