Director of Software Engineering [Python, AWS and Databricks]

As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the CORPORATE SECTOR - Finance and Treasury, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments.

Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.

Job responsibilities


* Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives


* Makes decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures


* Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations


* Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains


* Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams


* Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect


* Leads the transformation of firm's Interest Rate Risk platform as an integrated risk data capture, aggregation, calculation, and reporting platform, leveraging the firm's risk models for measuring interest rate risk.


* Develops and upholds data architecture standards, including interfaces, reliability, and governance frameworks, while enhancing the platform's data sourcing, orchestration, and reporting capabilities.


* Evaluates innovative technologies that will drive the success of the \"Next Generation\" Interest Rate Risk Platform.


* Develops multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategies, serves as a subject matter expert, advising on complex technical issues and solutions.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification on team leadership concepts and 10+ years applied experience.

In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise


* Knowledge of Finance and Treasury products


* Hands-on expertise in Python and numerical libraries and statistical models.


* Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.


* Deep knowledge of data architecture, best practices, and industry trends.


* Expert-level experience with AWS or other public cloud providers, as well as Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow, databases, and analytics.


* Proven influencer with a track record of successfully driving change across organizational boundaries.
