Field Service Engineering Intern - Summer 2025

If you are an engineering student looking for an opportunity to travel, learn, and grow professionally, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Tinley Park, IL office we are looking for a Field Service Engineering Intern (Summer 2025).

You will be part of a global team that performs a variety of complex engineering functions related to installation, service, and maintenance of our software/services for the power, renewables, water & wastewater treatment markets.

We focus on upgrading existing plant control systems with industry-leading automation controls and instrumentation to promote the sustainability and longevity of our North American power grid and wastewater infrastructure

We will offer you hands-on work experience and on-the-job training supported by senior engineers and mentorship.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:


* Be part of a global, collaborative, and innovative team passionate about solving complex electrical, mechanical, and software problems


* Learn about automation solutions for our project process and products to meet our customer demands


* Provide new and diverse ideas to the engineering and management teams


* Be given opportunities to build and develop your technical capabilities


* Have opportunities to work in an office, travel to the field, visit vendors, and/or observe system manufacturing and testing activities


* Can expect to receive a real-world application of engineering principles balanced with an understanding of customer needs and financial/schedule constraints


* Be paired with senior engineers to provide you with mentorship and training


* Work together with other interns and co-ops on specific multi-functional projects

Who You Are:

A student excited about being part of an active team of global problem-solvers, all working together to make the world healthier, safer, smarter, and more sustainable.  You are interested in renewable and traditional energy solutions and improving our water treatment processes throughout the world.

For This Role, You Will Need:


* Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical discipline


* Travel up to 5%


* Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this position
