Sr. Site Superintendent
Job Summary: The Traveling Construction Water/Wastewater Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the construction and installation of water and wastewater systems across multiple project sites.
This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
The superintendent will travel extensively to manage and supervise construction activities, coordinate with local teams, and ensure high-quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Supervision: Oversee the construction and installation of water and wastewater systems at various project sites, ensuring adherence to plans and specifications.
Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure all work meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
Schedule Management: Assist Project Manager and Scheduler and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and overall project deadlines.
Lead weekly subcontractor update meeting and internal construction progress meetings.
Build and distribute 3 week look ahead construction schedule.
Budget Oversight: Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective operations.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
Client Interaction: Communicate with clients/client inspectors and stakeholders, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.
Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed reports on project status, including progress, challenges, and solutions.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on water and wastewater projects or heavy industrial construction projects.
Experience in a traveling role preferred.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in construction management and water/wastewater operations.
Current OSHA 30 or able to attain.
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in project management software and technologies such as Procore, Microsoft programs.
Travel: 90% travel position
Working Conditions:
Environment: Fieldwork at construction sites, with occasional office work.
This is a 50% office and 50% field position.
Hours: Full-time, with potential for extended hours and weekend work as required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks related to construction supervision and inspections.
