Obstetric Hospitalist

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital is seeking OB/GYN Hospitalists to join its Inpatient Women's Health Services providing progressive evidence-based reproductive health care.

Enjoy working in a state-of-the-art Birth Center and award-winning Hospital.

You will be responsible for OB triage for all community, county, and unassigned patients, providing surgical assistance for community physicians on cesarean sections, and evaluating and managing gynecologic ER patients with backup from community physicians.

You will support the Cottage OB/GYN Clinic working collaboratively to provide continuity of care by performing overnight and weekend deliveries.

The OB/GYN Hospitalist will perform deliveries as needed for county and private physicians.


* Preference for experienced physicians who are Board-Certified or Board-Eligible with training in a high-volume residency program.


* 24-hour shifts


* Full-time is considered an average of 7.5 shifts per month


* MFM consultation readily available.


* Hospital averages 2,000 deliveries per year with a state of-the-art Birth Center and NICU.

The OB Hospitalist model enables you to serve as the in-house expert, dedicating your full attention to patient care.

This approach enhances patient safety, lowers maternal mortality rates, and helps reduce physician burnout.

Responsibilities:


* Conduct OB/GYN triage for OB-ED


* Gynecological emergency assistance (back up is available from the community physicians)


* Fetal monitoring


* Patient evaluation and management


* Delivery attendance and surgical assistance
