Public Works Inspector

Ardurra is seeking a Public Works Inspector to join our team in the Inland Empire!

Primary Function

The Public Works Inspector will play a vital role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of public infrastructure projects including streets, sidewalks, water/sewer lines, stormwater systems, and other city improvements and private projects for our local municipal clients, acting on their behalf.

Primary Duties


* Inspect construction and maintenance of public infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with city standards, plans, and specifications


* Observing that the work is completed in general accordance with the drawings and specifications, daily field reporting


* Tracking contractor's installed quantities, witnessing tests, documenting test results and serving as liaison between engineer, contractor, and adjacent residents and businesses


* Inspect projects involving the construction and/or rehabilitation of public building facilities, bridges, roadways, parks, and municipal water, wastewater, storm drain and dry utilities and other infrastructure using various construction methods, construction of water and wastewater treatment structures and equipment installation, as well as mechanical and structural rehabilitations


* Apply knowledge of construction methods of water, sewer, storm drain and dry utility pipe installations, including open trenching and trenchless methods such as jack and bore and directional drilling are strongly preferred


* Attend pre-construction meetings and contribute to project planning and scheduling


* Communicate ideas, suggestions, and observations effectively using good verbal and writing skills


* Qualified candidates may work on one or more projects simultaneously


* This person will be traveling to projects between Temecula, Riverside, San Bernardino, Long Beach, and adjacent municipalities

Education and Experience Requirements


* High School diploma or equivalent.

Civil Engineering related coursework/certifications, Associates Degree preferred


* Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction inspection or public works projects
