As our new System Administrator, your primary responsibility are guiding the overall operation and configuration of the customer-facing software environment including performing day-to-day administration and maintenance.
This position will also work with a team of IT professionals responsible for the maintenance, growth, and security of our production environment and supporting non-production environments.
The System Administrator are responsible for handling escalated issues and projects and driving forward thinking approach to the systems architecture.
We are looking for a person who is committed, dependable, excels in problem-solving, and maintains a strong sense of urgency.
This is a hybrid opportunity and we are based out of Port Talbot.
Your Key Responsibilities as a System Administrator are:
Advanced Server System Administration
* Design, configure, and manage domain and policy settings.
* Install system software and coordinate server connectivity.
Security Management
* Manage ACLs, User IDs, Groups, and other security functions.
* Develop, maintain, and enforce company security policies.
System and Network Performance Monitoring
* Monitor system and network performance.
* Identify and troubleshoot software problems.
Documentation and Standards
* Create and maintain documentation on existing systems and processes.
* Lead efforts to establish and implement software installation standards.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
* Support implementation of disaster recovery processes.
* Provide on-call technical support during non-business hours.
To be successful in this role you will require:
* 3+ years in configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting software systems (Linux OS, Microsoft Server 2019 or newer, SQL Server).
* Experience with Hypervisor solutions (VMWare, Hyper-V, ProxMox) and Web Application Servers (Apache, Nginx, IIS, Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss).
* Knowledge of AIX, Active Directory, Cisco/F5 networking equipment, Check Point firewalls, and SoftwareAG webMethods.
* Strong understanding of file transfer protocols (FTP, sFTP, AS2) and communication protocols, internet/network security, and authentication.
