House Supervisor - Behavioral Health
Position: Behavioral Health House Supervisor
The Behavioral Health House Supervisor will oversee the nursing operations ensuring quality care for patients and managing staff effectively.
This role is vital in creating a supportive environment for both patient and staff, ensuring that the facility operates efficiently and compassionately.
They will cover the night shift in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight:
* Supervise and coordinate nursing activities and admissions for the behavioral health hospital during assigned shifts.
* Ensure continuity of patient care and timely documentation on a 24-hour basis.
* Monitor high-risk and complicated cases, making appropriate decisions as needed.
Resource Allocation:
* Allocate hospital resources and direct patient care as an extension of the senior leadership team.
* Reassign and reallocate nursing resources to meet the needs of the hospital.
Staff Supervision:
* Plan, assign, and supervise hospital activities to ensure continuity of patient services.
* Provide significant input into the performance appraisal and competency assessment of nursing staff.
* Handle corrective actions, candidate interviewing, and oversee staff scheduling and payroll processing.
* Assist with recruiting, training, and supervision of nursing staff, ensuring proper onboarding and continuous professional development.
Compliance and Documentation:
* Ensure all documentation related to patient care and hospital activities is accurate and complete.
* Completion of required audits and addressing deficits identified timely.
This can include providing education and/or instruction to partners as needed.
* Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
Leadership and Support:
* Act as the senior leader on duty, providing clinical and administrative support during specific assigned hours.
* Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
* Handle emergencies and make critical decisions to maintain safety and care standards.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
Experience: Experience in psychiatric nursing, including supervisory or charge nurse roles preferred.
Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
Certifications: Current applicable state license as required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
