Shipping Compliance Specialist - NAM
Job Summary
We are looking for a NAM Shipping Compliance Specialist that will be responsible for work in collaboration with plants and DC to follow shipping golden rules and dangerous good management.
This role demands a comprehensive understanding of supply chains and transportation.
Key Responsibilities
•Consult: Advise all plants on best shipping practices.
•Develop & Monitor: Oversee shipping compliance across North America (NAM) through the "Golden Rules" program, collaborating closely with logistics engineering and quality teams.
•Optimize Processes: Enhance plant processes to drive optimal transportation and productivity, working alongside transportation leads.
•Collaborate: Foster cooperation between plants, distribution centers, cross-docks and the dangerous goods 3rd party consultant.
•Expertise: Serve as a Hazmat and dangerous goods expert for the region, collaborating with the global team to ensure proper training and compliance.
•Training Management: Administer the dangerous goods training program to meet regulatory and carrier requirements.
•Audits: Conduct "Golden Rules" and dangerous goods audits across NAM locations.
•Billing Review: Partner with the FAP team to address billing errors related to "Golden Rules" adherence, driving sustainable actions for lasting changes.
•Compliance Tools: Promote the use of CRS as a tool to measure shipping compliance issues and improve shipping processes.
•Load Optimization: Measure and drive actions related to load factor optimization while adhering to shipping "Golden Rules."
•Customer Tracking: Work with control tower teams to remediate customer tracking issues related to "Golden Rules" compliance.
Qualifications
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (LNI, LRI, IIA)
• Experience: 5+ years in Transportation and Supply Chain Management.
• Languages: Advanced proficiency in English.
Skills Required
* Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze freight invoices and identify discrepancies.
* Supply Chain / FAP Tools: Familiarity with TMS (Manhattan Global) and knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Bluejay, S4H & Oracle)
* Visibility Tools: Knowledge of Tableau and Power BI
* Diverse Transport Experience: Knowledge across various transport modes, including LTL, domestic parcel, full truckload, and international operations.
* Leadership & Communication: Strong collaboration, verbal and written communication skills, and project management abilities.
* Analytical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills for data mining and financial analysis, with advanced Excel capabilities.
* Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with different departments such as logistics, procurement, and finance
* Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
