Digital Solutions- Software Engineering Intern

Description & Requirements

This person will work on small software engineering assignments including, but not limited to, creating and demonstrating web applications.

Intern will have opportunity to explore/use tools involving AI.

Intern must reside within commutable distance of Princeton, NJ office, no relocation funding is available.

Additionally, the selected intern will gain knowledge of general business principles, corporate organizational structure and government process improvement.

Throughout the summer, you will have the opportunity to meet, interact, and collaborate among various project teams, consultants, senior management, executives and peers.

Guidance and training on operations standards and protocols will be provided by the Manager.

Hourly pay range is competitive and commensurate with education and experience.

Interns are eligible for benefits.

All computer equipment and access to digital systems will be provided to the hired candidate.

Students may also complete the internship for academic credit, subject to the qualifications of their academic program.

PROGRAM DETAILS:

This position requires a commitment of 40 full-time hours per week, with availability during usual business hours (8AM-6PM ET), for the duration of a 10-week summer program: starting Tuesday, May 27th and ending Friday, August 8th, 2025

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work on IT assignments of moderate difficulty, under the direction of a more senior mentor, to build a well-rounded skillset
- Escalate issues and questions to management as necessary
- Participate in group discussions with peers or external groups to solution problems of moderate scope
- Participate in meetings to gain process knowledge and guidance on assigned projects
- Read, understand and perform assignments within prescribed guidelines
- Approach challenges and create solutions with a critical thinking and customer service mindset
- Prepare standard reports and presentation materials.

Strong proficiency in front-end development particularly JavaScript.

Bring creativity and initiative as we evolve our tech and product strategy.

Experience or interest in work with React (a strong plus).

Willingness to explore new technologies, especially AI.

A team player who's excited to grow with the company.

Minimum Requirements

- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a college degree in a related major including systems, technical, engineering, analytics, or similar field.
- Must have completed 2 years of coursework.
- Good organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
- Strong interpersonal communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
- Limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories, and concepts.

- Strong proficiency in front-end development particularly JavaScript.
