Senior Financial Analyst I
The Senior Financial Analyst I is an integral part of our plant management team within the Infrastructure Solutions business. Primary responsibility for all financial duties for the Steel Products division. These include but not limited to month-end closing, compliance with established policies and procedures both internal and external, variance analysis driving continual improvement, full P&L and balance sheet responsibilities. This position reports to the Infrastructure Segment Controller.
Responsibilities: (Essential Functions)
1.
Support internal business partners, other departments, management, and external parties.
2.
Analyze trends in the division wide costs and product line and business profitability.
3.
Prepare monthly closing journal entries and take ownership of investigating / resolving variances in a timely manner.
4.
Prepare detailed account analysis reports for specific balance sheet accounts.
5.
Monitor cost systems, BOM, and inventory movements for financial reporting across four plant locations.
6.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley.
7.
Drive and support continuous improvement by challenging the status quo, supporting.
management initiatives and developing and documenting new processes.
8.
Assist with other financial and compliance activities as needed.
9.
Respond timely to both internal and external audit requests.
10.
Primary financial resource for the Steel Products division to help the business reach their financial commitments while maintaining all GAAP & SOX controls.
11.
All other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education, & License Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 5+ years’ experience in accounting required, with two years’ experience in the manufacturing industry required.
• MBA or advanced certification (CPA) a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
• Proficient in understanding of US GAAP; comfortable in review and analysis of financial statements.
• Experience in cost accounting, product costs, & inventory methodologies / practices.
• Strong user of Microsoft Excel & SAP
