About the Role:

The Lead Maintenance Planner is responsible for the guidance and management activities of the maintenance planners as well as planned maintenance in an assigned area.  These duties will be conducted in alignment with the Maintenance Strategy for both the Casthouse and Smelter to provide a safe cost effective and high-quality service to the Massena, NY plant. This professional will focus on fewer equipment failures, fast repair times on equipment and continuous improvement between maintenance and operating personnel.  Some key responsibilities are listed below:


* Assure that environmental, health and safety are the priority of the business.


* Provide direct supervision for the Casthouse and Smelting Maintenance Planners.


* Drive consistency in the planning function and systems.


* Plan and schedule maintenance and related project work on a weekly basis.  Generate schedules through a weekly planning meeting with maintenance and production.


* Organize and provide all parts, tools and documentation for planned maintenance work.  This would include work order task breakdown as necessary to re-route portions of work requiring participation of additional teams, shops, or departments.


* Measure the effectiveness of work performed against expectations of man-hours, cost, and schedules.


* Continuously improve work instructions and techniques through customer and user feedback.


* Monitor long-term maintenance schedules and monthly, annual, and multiyear budgets. 


* Provide reporting of key maintenance indices.


* Developing & deploying training programs.

What you can bring to the role:


* Associate’s degree and/or Technical Trade/Certification.


* High School Diploma or GED required.


* General understanding of maintenance key performance indicators.


* 3 - 5 years of experience leading/managing a team.


* Solid understanding of maintenance, inventory control & logistics.


* Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills


* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.


* Self-starter who can work within a team & independently.


* Use and Knowledge of Oracle EAM, preferred.


* Experience working in a manufacturing/industry environment is a plus.
