Incumbent reports to the Enterprise Capital Engineering (ECE) Mill Sustaining Capital Sr Engineering Manager.
You will be the KCNA Distribution and Packaging Technical leader driving the development and execution of Distribution and Converting packaging projects along with technical decisions to meet NA business needs using KCNA Project Management Practices (PMP) process.
In this role, you will:
* Effectively collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes NA Distribution teams, Value Streams, mill operations, procurement, equipment suppliers and with a focus on external service providers.
* Own vendor relationships, including vetting and selection to drive cost effective design and execution for packaging, conveying, palletizing, stretch wrapping and labeling projects.
* Owns & manages Third Party Technical Service Provider relationships
* Equipment Capability /Improvement- evaluation evolving technology to meet changing business needs for Tissue and Personal Care.
* Own and develop roadmaps for obsolescence replacement plans.
* Support major initiatives such as DC Automation to ensure the Case Handling systems meets their needs, ie.
SLPN, Labeling, Double stacking.
* Work with businesses to add capability and capacity as new machines are added, significant increases in rates due to upgrades or changes to product mix.
* Connection to PMO’s up front to trigger need to engage with R&D, ECE and Distribution teams
* Conduct EDR’s including use of modeling to determine bottlenecks and look at proposed solutions.
* Develop cost estimates, write appropriations & provide leadership for implementation.
* Work with ECE, DC’s & DC/Staff Capital leads to develop/maintain listing of capital projects to support on-going DC needs including obsolescence.
* Support development of cost justification & communication with sites/staff to get justification & alignment.
* Lead projects through execution and startup
