MATERIAL HANDLER

The Material Handler – Shipping Yard is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of castings in our outdoor shipping yard.

This role plays a critical part in loading, unloading, staging, and organizing heavy cast iron products to meet shipping schedules and customer orders.

Key Responsibilities


* Safely operate forklifts and heavy equipment to move large castings throughout the shipping yard


* Load and unload trucks according to shipping documents and schedules


* Prepare and stage castings for outbound shipments


* Perform visual inspections of castings for damage before shipment


* Maintain organized, clean, and safe yard areas in compliance with safety regulations


* Accurately record and report inventory movements


* Communicate effectively with the shipping team, production team, and truck drivers


* Assist in yard counts, cycle counts, and inventory tracking when needed

Requirements & Qualifications


* Prior experience in a manufacturing or shipping/receiving yard environment preferred


* Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions


* Forklift operation experience required (certification a plus)


* Ability to safely handle and move heavy materials


* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow shipping paperwork


* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions


* Dependable and able to work with minimal supervision
