DESCRIPTION

The Michael Baker International Chicago, IL office is looking for a Summer High School Intern to make a difference and contribute to local projects using the latest design software while working with a group of dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced engineers.

If you want to work hard, but like to have fun, then you will fit in with our group! The best part of being an Intern at Michael is that you will learn and grow your engineering skills through on-the-job training from industry leading senior engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The high school Intern will have various learning opportunities in Michael Baker's fields of expertise and assist with technical duties on a variety of design projects.

Responsibilities include:


* Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids


* Assist project managers and engineers with various tasks


* Draft details and make minor CAD revisions


* Work under supervision of a project manager or a senior level team member


* Assist with data collection, input, verification, and manipulation

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

You'll need to have graduated from high-school and plan to enroll as a part-time or full-time student in an engineering program at an accredited university, college, or technical school.


* 2025 High School Graduate


* 2025 ACE Mentor Program participant


* Minimum 2.5 overall GPA on a 4.0 scale


* Proficiency with MS Office


* Technical skills for daily tasks include good analytical skills, strong technical writing ability, and excellent communication skills


* Must have strong organizational skills

COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $18- $22/hour.

This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
